Have you been very naughty and sometimes give in to using ChatGPT and similar AI chat tools? *wags finger*

Well if you’re going to use AI, be safe with it and do yourself and everyone a favour and use Offline AI that just runs in your computer (and doesn’t send data back to BigTech like using AI from a website does). Otherwise you’re feeding all your data directly into their dirty black box.

How? Well the easiest way is to use the new AI sidebar in Firefox. Just pick the model you want ChatGPT/Gemini etc and it’ll download it to run in your computer and then you can use the chat inside Firefox and all your chats stay just on your computer under your control.

I mean we’re no fan of AI and acknowledge the very real problems with environmental impact, surveillance state and other social impacts. But if you’re going to do it. Be safe doing so.

To get started just press the sidebar button in the top left of Firefox browser (on desktops and laptops).

Oooo! no! What beautiful scenery! I'm also in love with the little red American squirrels. Not only are they adorable, but I also appreciate them as the underdog survivor with the larger grey/black squirrels often taking over their areas in North America. I grew up in an area without squirrels so they're all delightful to me, but the little red ones have a special place in my heart. ❤️

Also, I just realized, I don't think Loops federates yet. I don't seem to be able to subscribe to people on Loops like I can on Peertube... yet. Iirc though, @dansup was working on it. I'm sure Loops will grow much faster once it's integrated into the wider Fedi.
