I think it's fair to say that I quite dislike the Ruby environment. That said, the server's now running Mastodon 4.5.10. I still need to stand up my #Friendica server again. And I'm interested in firing up #snac2 as it's possible that my reading behaviours are converging with its feature set.
Hint for #freebsd folks running Mastodon: Don't try to use system packages any more than you must. You're going to end up needing to use rbenv or everything comes apart at the seams. Also, it's not enough following Mastodon's upgrade instructions - I needed to throw in the database migration instructions from https://glitch-soc.github.io/docs/ before the server would actually come up.

@Bodo ich habe den Beitrag zitiert, ich nehme an Mastodon mag nicht wie #Friendica das zitiert, die haben es sicher wieder anders implementiert und achten nicht so sehr darauf was bisher da war.

Das Friendica-Abenteuer ist schneller wieder vorbei als gedacht! Ehrlich ich bin selbst überrascht, Zu sehr fehlt mir die moderne Ui von Sharkey, zu sehr fehlen mir die Antennen bei Sharkey.
Versteht much nicht falsch, Friendica ist toll, aber Sharkey hat dann doch mehr Schwupsidität.
Daher wieder zurück zu @IdleHirn@federation.network
