Gestern hatte ich mal wieder einen Fehler beim Update meiner #Yunohost Installation. Irgendwas war da mit einem Key, der nicht mehr da war.
Ich habe versucht das Problem zu lösen. Mit verschiedenen Befehlen, die ich aus dem Netz hatte. Am Ende hat Yunohost komplett gemeckert und hat keine Updates mehr gemacht.
Das hat mir leider wieder gezeigt, dass ich für #Selfhosting nicht gemacht bin. Solange alles läuft, ist es super. Bei Problemen kenne ich mich leider zu wenig aus und habe nicht die Zeit und nicht das Fachwissen, um mich einzuarbeiten.

Donc il est possible d'héberger un serveur mail sur une adresse ipv6 fournie par #sosh.
Testé avec #yunohost, un nom de domaine fourni par yunohost. On ne peut guère faire plus simple.
Le truc : désactiver complètement ipv4.
Juste eu besoin de contacter spamhaus via le formulaire de test pour retirer mon adresse ipv6 des spammeurs.

Self Hosting & Home Lab people, please help me find this lost website:
In the last few months I found an amazing self hosting platform with excellent SSO support only to not be able to find it again.
I'll be very grateful if anyone can help me find the project again...
From memory the self hosted platform had these features:
- Good SSO support (more below)
- Open Source and free for self hosting
- Good marketplace of listed apps
- Sat on top of docker, allowing new apps to be added to the marketplace OR just loaded by linking to the url for the docker-compose file.
- Had it's own .yml configuraton format (that also supported .json), which elegantly resolved how to configure SSO.
- Pretty sure it was built with python and you started by running a python script.

Habe heute einen weiteren Erfolg auf meinem Homeserver erzielt.
Mein Homeserver redet nun auch wieder nach einem Reboot mit meiner Fritzbox.
Hauptdomäne ist auch wieder eingerichtet. Da ich kommendes WE nicht zu Hause bin, werde ich die Freigaben, YH Apps und die Unterdomänen wahrscheinlich an dem WE noch nicht einrichten können.
Aber Anfang/Mitte kommender Woche sollte ich die Zeit haben die genannnten Dinge einzurichten.
Dementsprechend wird kommende Woche meine Peertube Instanz wahrscheinlich wieder online gehen😃

weird i have 3 servers.
A home server with yunohost
B vps
C another server at work.
trying to reverse_host from B VPS to C server at home
made DNS entry to point to B vps
B caddy on vps reverse proxy to tailscale ip of C another server at work.
checking the logs on B, TLS cert not working cause it's hitting my server A

weird cause i have many other things i'm reverse proxying from B but only locally to things running on the VPS.
wonder what's going on.

As a new, very green, very basic sysadmin, something missing from the manual vs. let’s ask a LLM mode is… the human element.
Aside from ethical considerations (environmental costs, stolen training data, erosion of skills and critical thinking), I will always choose “manual mode.” Why? I love receiving tech advice from people on the Fediverse.
I will forever remember that it’s @ilja who encouraged me to start self-hosting with #YunoHost.
I first heard about #FreeBSD from @stefano
Earlier this week I learned about #tmux from @teapot_ben and @drfyzziks
Today @antoine_ali helped me get this GoToSocial instance to federate again by restarting dnsmasq.
I know if I run into issues I can just shoot a DM to my tech mentors @stereo and @jan

I've been using #yunohost for a few months to #selfhost many apps.
Overall, I find it pretty cool for personal use.
But for more serious projects, I would feel better using #docker containers.
I've consider switching to #cloudron , but I don't see myself subscribing to a closed source software. On the long term at least.
I recently found #coolify and it looks interesting. I might give it a try.
