@miguelpergamon I will be cross posting most of my videos from now on.

I wasn't using YouTube as it's a lot more setup with settings, and tags, and I don't get NEARLY as many views.

My growth on is more explosive, and they have trending features I can follow that closely follow the news I am interested in anyway.

So I use it to inspire what I post, and I am getting a tiny following now too, and people outside the USA often can't view my Scoopz videos.

So it's for them mainly

I haven't used in about a decade as I've never cared for mindlessly scrolling through nonsense posted by people I haven't seen since I graduated, or in years otherwise.

The real life people I care about I contact directly.

I installed it for FB Marketplace seeking a cheap .

It wants access to every aspect of my phone, and I swear I had to deny access to my contacts about 3 times, then get asked "are you sure?".

Yes, I'll never use FB again.

Well, luckily someone created a doc on the matter: "Rough guide to making a bootable NVMe over 2TB on RPi 5/PCIe/NVMe"

One needs to go through several hoops to utilize the full capacity of such drives with a GPT partition and then must do the other stuff. The SD copy utility does not recognize such drives (ok, it does, if it is MBR, but then you are down to 2TB and means that all of those extra TBs are a wasted money).

Over on her newsletter/blog Citation Needed, Molly white is singing the praises of RSS feed readers.

What is an RSS reader?

What if you could take all your favorite newsletters, ditch the data collection, and curate your own newspaper? It could include independent journalists, bloggers, mainstream media, worker-owned media collectives, and just about anyone else who publishes online. Even podcast episodes, videos from your favorite YouTube channels, and online forum posts could slot in, too. Only the stuff you want to see, all in one place, ready to read at your convenience. No email notifications interrupting your peace (unless you want them), no pressure to read articles immediately. Wouldn’t that be nice?

RSS feeds have been around since forever, but they continue to provide a very underused alternative to the algorithm-controlled narratives and infinite data harvesting of corporate social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Substack, and all the rest.

I suggest you ditch them ASAP. Your life will thank you for it.

Many, if not most, websites publish an RSS feed. Whereas you can only follow a Twitter user on Twitter or a Substack writer in the Substack app, you can follow any website with an RSS feed in a feed reader. When you open it, all your reading is neatly waiting for you in one place, like a morning newspaper. And RSS is more of a one-way street from a privacy perspective, pushing writing out to you with less of your data flowing back to the publisher.

There's a #Firefox addon that fills out those "can we please track you forever?" cookie popups. I used it for years and loved it, but I lost it in a reinstall, and I cannot for the life of me remember what it's called.

it shows up as a dark blue box with light blue highlighting. If anyone knows what it is, please tell me. I miss it dearly.
