probably a consequence of self-hosting a small instance not connected to many, but i am noticing the #Fediverse feels smaller these days. conversely, the more corporate ones like bsky have more engagement possibly maybe. i'm not on it, but i'm hearing reports from friends of it. is it that people are going more for the cold comfort of corporations? i might be wrong (and seriously hope i am). so, that means we need to return on #Fedi to more comfortable roots?

I can't figure out why Storage Entities have a name field that seems like you can only hide if you use tokens to populate it. Why would that be necessary?

I guess the problem is that I'm looking for a module that has the exact functionality as Paragraphs, but is a different entity type since we already have so many paragraph types for various page sections and section items.

These aren't your typical "real" protestors. They aren't well-meaning #students out protesting fossil fuel use, or Israel, or student debt, or creeping fascism. They aren't the tree-hugging crowd protesting environmental #issues.

They don't seem to actually believe any of the stuff they're pushing. Like I said, they didn't even make their own signs. They're pretty obviously being paid to be there, and they do exactly the minimum they're told to do, and no more.

So, the only real effect this has is that it corrodes our functioning society. Who would pay for fake protests to do that?

I'm hoping it's #foreign. Russia and China do these sorts of things, trying anything they can to hurt their enemies and fracture their #unity. If Canadians, for example, stop trusting media reports about the war in Ukraine, or about China's brutal suppression of #Tibet and persecution of #Uyghurs, we might stop shipping arms to #Ukraine, or criticizing China at the UN. Both of those countries have the motivation, the resources, and the experience to do this here in Canada.

So, fellow #Canucks - have you noticed any of these so-far-out-there-they-can't-be-real protests in your city? What are the slogans on their signs?

I am running #HomeAssistant on a #RaspberryPi 4 with 8gb RAM. It runs just fine. I'm also running #Mealie (which is awesome!) as an Add On but it's SLOW like molasses flowing uphill in February.

I have access to a free 2011 Mac Mini and can upgrade the RAM to 16GB and replace the HDD with an SSD really easily.

Anyone have any opinions on whether it's worth moving my installation over to the old Mac? I can't imagine Home Assistant would benefit but could Mealie?
