Update on the stuck bobbin shuttle. Just before taking the whole apparatus apart we gave the hand crank another turn with force. That was enough to unblock the shuttle to grab and pull out the stuck thread. All in one piece.
We also configured the upper and lower tension and go now shopping for the right oil to service the rest of the machine.
