## Git add everything except whitespace changes

In short, you can use this command:

> git diff -w | git apply --cached --ignore-whitespace

You can also add a alias like this

> git config --global alias.smartadd '!f() { git diff -w | git apply --cached --ignore-whitespace; }; f'

so, you can simply use 'git smartadd'

Hay una cosa que me pone enferma de las redes sociales "privativas". Ahora, solo por querer que la gente vea tus vídeos o publicaciones (nada mas porque te gusta que los vean) te quieren sangrar, si no eres alguien de alta fama, que paga o que crea polémica no eres visible

Eso y con el posible aumento de boots de mierda la motivación por compartir algo se desvanece rápidamente

Y si, estoy volviendo a subir contenido a Tiktok. Pero no como el de antes ni de la misma forma

Привет, Хабр! Сегодня мы рассмотрим, как протестировать Kafka с помощью Testcontainers. Testcontainers — это библиотека, которая из JUnit-теста запускает Docker-контейнеры как обычные Java-объекты. Вы пишете пару строк — а на фоне поднимается полноценная инфраструктура: база, брокер, Redis, что угодно. После теста контейнер гарантированно останавливается, поэтому окружение всегда чистое, а CI не засоряется процессами. Kafka в Testcontainers запускается теми же двумя строками. Получаем реальный брокер, который ничем не отличается от продакшен-копии, но живёт ровно столько, сколько идёт тест.

Want to add a "pre-commit" hook to #Git repositories to re-format & check syntax (Perl, Python, sh).

A search found lots of results (same in multiplicates sometimes) using Python-centric "pre-commit-hooks" github.com/pre-commit/pre-comm ; got curious enough to read about it. Damn thing does (or, can do) far too much by itself!

So, will see how the solution in stackoverflow.com/questions/31 or other artisanally crafted masterpiece would go ...

Apologies to most but not all of the instances who've been trying to federate with me but keep getting blocked. This instance is sitting behind an AdGuard Home server running an extremely large blocklist. I made said blocklist myself by simply concatenating a bunch of blocklists that already existed. It's definitely a double edged sword now that I'm running my own Fediverse instance. There are definitely, literally a few, instances who've been trying to talk to me who are about to get domain blocked for real (meaning here). I've also had to (in AdGuard Home) unblock a few big instances I'm already familiar with who are no problem at all. The percentage of domains blocked at the DNS level has literally increased from low single digits to mid-twenties percent since I've started running this thing. In both cases, before and after, that's over the last 24 hours. I've had my own server on the Fediverse for about 22–23 hours now. So the thing's a tad bit touchy… I'm working on it, lol.

Seit Jahrhunderten verspricht Microsoft (MS) über die Sicherheit unserer Daten das Blaue vom Himmel. Genau so lange klammern sich die Politiker (nicht meine) an formaljuristische Strohhalme wie "Safe Harbor" oder "Privacy Shield" (beide vom EuGH gekippt) und/oder an privatrechtliche Verträge. Die sind das Papier nicht wert, auf dem sie stehen. Datenschützer warnen immer wieder; mehr können sie nicht tun, da sie keinerlei Exekutivgewalt haben. Immer wieder und immer mehr geht es um Cloud-Funktionen.

PayPal going full bore on Crypto.

New PayPal service called Pay with Crypto seeks to enable merchants with instant crypto to stablecoin or fiat conversion and supporting transactions across 100+ cryptocurrencies and wallets such as Coinbase and MetaMask.

Need #help

I installed #forgejo on a #jail. This jail was a centralized #git server.

I cannot find how to import local (in the jail) repos to forgejo.

If I try a migration from #git and give the repository path in the URL field the answer is:
Your not allowed to import local repository.

SO there must by a parameter to allow this kind of import.

I can't figure which one.

Can't your help me please?

Behind the scenes, it is very different; anyone can easily run a server, and all these servers are federated (think email), and connected to the same universe, called the Fediverse.
For a link aggregator, this means a user registered on one server can subscribe to forums on any other server, and can have discussions with users registered elsewhere.
The overall goal is to create an easily self-hostable, decentralized alternative to Reddit and other link aggregators, outside of their corporate control and meddling.
Each Lemmy server can set its own moderation policy; appointing site-wide admins, and community moderators to keep out the trolls, and foster a healthy, non-toxic environment where all can feel comfortable contributing.

Du hast recht – wer sich hier anmeldet, bringt in der Regel schon ein gewisses Maß an Bildung mit. Es gibt allerdings auch "echte" & möglicherweise gefährliche Spambots, die lediglich Accounts erstellen und danach inaktiv bleiben. Auf unserer Instanz haben wir selbst schon Dutzende Konten, die nur angelegt wurden, ohne jemals aktiv geworden zu sein. Ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass es irgendwann eine koordinierte Desinformationskampagne gibt – massenhaft, an einem einzigen Tag, möglicherweise gesteuert aus Russland.

Well, I have a "working" OAuth2 authorization mechanism for #ONI instances for #mobile.

So far it loads an #ActivityPub actor fetched from an URL that the user provides, checks if it matches an ONI main actor and then performs the authorization.

So far so good, it only took me about 3 and a half days of work to get to this point from zero knowledge about #dart or #flutter.

Not too bad, I'd say. :goose_hacker:

(1/3) Die Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde muss sparen. In ihrem aktuellen Newsletter[1] schreibt sie, dass ihr Budget von 6,1 Mio. Euro in 2025 auf 5,9 Mio. Euro in 2026 gekürzt wird. Deshalb kann sie unter anderem den Großteil ihrer Verwaltungspraktika nicht nachbesetzen, obwohl sie mit ihrer Stammbelegschaft von nur 51 Vollzeitäquivalenten ohenhin chronisch unterbesetzt ist.

Also why doesn't @signalapp / #Signal just accept a #screenshot of said #QRcode as a means to authenticate?

  • Seriously, there's no valid reason they can't do it like #Telegram and just send a message in-app to ask:

"Do you want to add/authenticate [instert device name here] at [IP Address]? Here's a unique pairing code to enshure that's correct!"

Like the #UX is worse than early versions of #OTR on #Pidgin back in those days...

My reservations and criticism re: #Signal are not just valid, but the reality is even worse than I thought:

  • The fact that @signalapp requires not only their shitty #Android #App, and a #PhoneNumber but literally won't allow people to use their shitty #Desktop-App unless they have an Android device with a camera pointed at it makes it utterly unuseable for certain users who don't have a fucking #camera in their Android…

Seriously, do they expect folks to deal with that shit?

FIX THAT SHIT, @Mer__edith, and if it means you need to kick some devs in their crouch then consider this a necessary "investment"…
