Hey self-hosted folks!
Some of my family members have been telling me they’re fed up with Meta and are thinking of leaving FB/Insta. I’m thinking of setting up a Pixelfed instance for them with Docker Compose.

I’m new to using Docker, does anyone have hosts that they would recommend?

Server mit PHP5.4 und MySQL5.6 auf dem Raspberry Pi

Ich möchte ich euch eine Lösung Vorstellen die ich mir zusammengestellt habe um auf einem Raspberry Pi einen alten Server mit PHP5.4 und MySQL5.6 (kompatible) Datenbank in Docker zu installieren.

Der Stand dieser beiden Programme ist natürlich komplett veraltet und sollte deshalb mit bedacht eingesetzt werden. Bei mir läuft so ein System im Heimnetzwerk, weil ich eine alte Webanwendung habe die auf aktuellen PHP & MySQL Versionen nicht läuft.

Bei mir liegt alles unter /volume1/docker – als erstes brauchen wir folgende Unterordner:

"Thousands of federal troops have been deployed to Los Angeles since June 7 on the orders of President Donald Trump.

In the first 40 days of this military operation on U.S. soil, they have done vanishingly close to nothing.

The more than 5,000 National Guard soldiers and Marines who have operated in Southern California — under the command of the Army’s Task Force 51 — were sent to “protect the safety and security of federal functions, personnel, and property.” In practice, this has mostly meant guarding federal buildings across LA from protests against the ongoing Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids sweeping the city.

Since Trump called up the troops on June 7, they have carried out exactly one temporary detainment, a Task Force 51 spokesperson told The Intercept. On Tuesday, Trump administration officials announced that about 2,000 troops deployed to LA would be released.

Chief Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell described this action-packed deployment as Task Force 51 supporting “more than 170 missions in over 130 separate locations from nine federal agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Agency, the US Marshal Service, ICE and the Department of Homeland Security” in a briefing in early July. Task Force 51 failed to provide any other metrics regarding troops’ involvement in raids, arrests, or street patrols in response to questions by The Intercept.

“The militarization of Los Angeles and the deployment of nearly 5,000 soldiers is completely unnecessary.”

The deployments are expected to cost the public hundreds of millions of dollars."

Wenn ich Dateien oder Fotos mit Freunden teile, lade ich die auf meiner #NAS hoch und erstelle einen Passwort-geschützten Link, mit dem Gäste Dateien hoch- und herunterladen können.
Jetzt will ich die NAS aber nicht mehr direkt am Internet haben.

Kennt jemand eine leichtgewichtige Alternative? Ich brauche keine Nextcloud, keine Nutzerverwaltung. Mir würde es schon reichen, Dateien per SFTP bei meinem Webhoster hochzuladen und nen Link zu generieren.

Oje Blocher, dieser alte senile Mann der #svp, muss nach dem US-Zollhammer natürlich auch seinen Senf abgeben und natürlich warnt er vor den neuen Verträgen der #Schweiz mit der EU.
Die Wahrheit ist, gerade jetzt muss die Zusammenarbeit mit der #EU gestärkt werden. Aber seine Partei kuschelt lieber mit Putin und kriecht auch den Trump tief hinten rein. Der svp #Bundesrat Rösti meinte ja, Trump wäre besser für die Schweizer Wirtschaft als Harris. 🤷‍♂️

Porter can fetch Goods to Export, and deliver to Railway.
Struggling with Logic for sending Train.
And movement code for train - it keeps getting stuck on Colliders.
Tries moving it with Tweens (as per BornCG Platformer), but it slides off my tiny brain.
It just needs to go from point A (Station) to B (City) and back, with correct timings and Inventory Changes

So much has been happening on and off the fediverse that it can be tough to keep up with it, but I enjoy trying.

My work hosted a summer event at Shubie Park this afternoon and we had a great time. After a meal we went down the canal in a canoe, spotting ducks, tadpoles, and squirrels. Later Tonet and Celestine stayed at the beach at the lake while I went out on a standup paddle board for an hour. It was a wholly relaxing experience.

Pierwszy poważniejszy artykuł, tym razem nietechniczny. Będzie o cyfrowej suwerenności Europy, jej zależności od Big Techów, o zmianie kursu na Open Source i o tym jak sobie z tym radzą poszczególne kraje europejskie w tym Polska. Poruszam także temat wydarzeń, które stały się katalizatorem zmian w postrzeganiu wolnego oprogramowania przez europejskich polityków oraz korzyści i wyzwania jakie wiążą z migracją na otwartoźródłowe oprogramowanie w organach administracyjnych.

Die Schweiz hat kaum Wertschöpfung aus dieser Dienstleistung. Der Goldexport wirkt aber wie ein Handelsdefizit.

Trump ist nicht in der Lage, diese Zusammenhänge zu verstehen und macht deshalb unsere Wirtschaft mit 39% Strafzöllen kaputt.

Nach einer Lösung dieses Problems des scheinbaren Defizits durch die Schweizer Raffinerien wird jetzt gesucht.
